TMJ Treatment
TMJ Treatment in Salt Lake City
When jaw pain is not just a jaw problem.
TMJ dysfunction can be frustrating, painful, and confusing—especially when the usual treatments do not hold.
Many patients come to The Lift Clinic after trying mouthguards, splints, dental work, physical therapy, medications, injections, or other approaches that helped temporarily but never fully solved the problem.
That is often because the jaw joint is not always the original cause.
In many complex TMJ cases, the jaw is compensating for problems in nearby systems: the upper neck, skull base, airway, bite, posture, and nervous system. When these systems are not working together, the jaw may become overloaded, painful, unstable, or inflamed.
At The Lift Clinic, we look beyond the TMJ itself.
Our goal is to determine whether your jaw symptoms are part of a larger structural pattern—and whether precise, non-surgical correction can help restore alignment, reduce strain, and stabilize long-term function.
Dr. Chapman and Dr. Buxton are collaborating on a patient who has successfully completed the TMJ first phase of care. The patient is undergoing our proprietary bite equilibration to preserve the rehabilitated posture or her temporomandibular joints.
